President Trump Promotes American Values in France

“The President Comes Out Swinging for Donald Jr. and American Values in France”
Jul 13, 2017 from the Rush Limbaugh website, the transcript of Rush’s comments.

RUSH:  President Trump in France today accepted the invitation from the new French president, Macaroni. Why do I — it’s Macron. I think macaroni when I see the word, and I know it’s not  macaroni. Why did I say that? I wasn’t trying to be — anyway, we knew it was gonna happen.

He got a question from the Drive-Bys about Donald Jr. and the honey pot. It was from Cecilia Vega of ABC, who said, “Mr. President, your FBI nominee said that if someone in the campaign got an eMail about Russia like the one your son received that they should alert the FBI rather than accept the meeting. Is he wrong? And also, were you misled by your team in not knowing about this meeting?”  [ED:  For the first few sentences, President Trump praises his choice to head the FBI, Christopher Wray.]

PRESIDENT TRUMP:  Nothing happened from the meeting. Zero happened from the meeting, and honestly, I think the press made a very big deal over something that really a lot of people would do. Now, the lawyer that went to the meeting, I see that she was in the halls of Congress also. Somebody said that her visa or her passport to come into the country was approved by Attorney General Lynch.

Now, maybe that’s wrong; I just heard that a while ago, but no surprise here, she was here because of Lynch. So, again, I have a son who’s a great young man, he’s a fine person. He took a meeting with a lawyer from Russia, it lasted for a very short period, and nothing came of the meeting. And I think it’s a meeting that most people in politics probably would have taken.

[ED:   Further, President Trump said of the other two in the short meeting, Jared Kushner left after a brief moment when the deception was noticed; and the other, Manafort, was texting and not paying much attention.]

RUSH: And have taken. And once again I’m forced to mention this, the dossier that formed the basis of the FBI investigation into Trump, this totally fake document was written by the Russians. It was written by the KGB and handed over. Actually what happened was, members of the KGB, now called the FSB — it doesn’t matter; once you’re in the KGB, you’re always in the KGB and the KGB never dies.

Agents in the KGB literally told Christopher Steele at MI6, Fusion GPS, how to write it, what to say. Analysis of it by an expert on Sovietology and Russianism at the Hoover Institution, the campus of Stanford, has concluded way back in January, it’s a KGB document. Anyway, so it starts in Russia and it ends up at the FBI.

Now, isn’t that a crime? What is the FBI doing accepting a document that’s fake and phony from the KGB with a pass-through, MI6, Christopher Steele, and using it to form the basis of an investigation into a Republican presidential candidate? Compare that to Donald Trump Jr. taking a meeting with a honey pot lawyer from the Kremlin on the basis that she wanted to talk about dirt from the Kremlin on Hillary, but she didn’t have any of that, she wanted to talk about adoption.

There isn’t any crime here. In fact, I’m gonna tell you, based on the feedback I’m getting, most Trump supporters are appreciative of the fact that Donald Jr. was trying to get dirt on Hillary. A lot of people think there’s all kinds of dirt on the Clintons to be had and that it should be used! You know, this investigation stuff is a one-way street! They don’t have a single thing on Donald Trump and collusion. And they don’t have a single thing yet on Donald Trump obstruction.
And yet with Hillary, all of those things are likely, with her foundation, with her email server, trafficking in classified data. And she was investigated and exonerated because they couldn’t find any intent. And now we find out the honey pot was allowed to come into the country and overstay her visa by six months. I’m just telling you, the way this is shaping up for a lot of people is they think Donald Trump Jr. is right on the money to accept dirt on Hillary.
What are political campaigns about? And there is no statutory crime. There’s no way Donald Trump’s gonna be impeached over this.

RUSH: I’m just telling you that there are a lot of people that don’t think Donald Trump Jr. did anything but they would have done. “You got dirt on Hillary? Give it to me.” I’m just telling you, Trump is not going to be impeached over this. He can’t be. What everybody wants to happen is Trump to be paralyzed by this. I mean, I know Brad Sherman [D-CA] introduced articles of impeachment, but it doesn’t have a prayer. Impeachment, by the way, is not a criminal thing. Trump is not guilty of violating any statutes. I’m not saying that’s not impeachable, but that’s such a long shot. Standard, ordinary, everyday impeachment is a political act. That’s why high crimes and misdemeanors are stated and not straight felonies, statutory crimes and felonies, ’cause they’re two different things.  We’re talking about statutory felony, criminal law, and political. And impeachment’s always an act of politics. And if the public will is not there for it, it’s not gonna go anywhere no matter what the president’s guilty of, look at Bill Clinton, just never gonna happen. And Trump is not gonna be impeached over this. They’re gonna try to paralyze him. They’re gonna try to stop him dead in his tracks from getting anything done. And they’re failing at even that.

Let’s see. Here’s the next Trump bite. The next question was from a French reporter. “Mr. President, you mentioned a friend, Jim, who told you that Paris is no longer Paris. You were implying at the time that Paris was not safe. You also said that France and Germany were infected by terrorism and it’s their fault because they let people enter the territory. Those are very strong words, Mr. President. Would you repeat them today? And do you still believe that France is not able to fight terrorism on its own territory?”

PRESIDENT TRUMP: You better let me answer that one first. That’s a beauty. He’s the one that asked the question. That he wasn’t even one of my picks. You know what? It’s going to be just fine because you have a great president. You have somebody that’s going to run this country right, and I would be willing to bet, because I think this is one of the great cities, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And you have a great leader now, you have a great president, you have a tough president. He’s not going to be easy on people that are breaking the laws and people that show this tremendous violence. So I really have a feeling that you’re going to have a very, very peaceful and beautiful Paris. And I’m coming back. You better do a good job, please, otherwise you’re going to make me look very bad.

RUSH: Trump had turned to the kid running France and said: “You better do a good job now after I praise you to hilt, otherwise you gonna make me look very bad.”  Now, the media will think that Trump had just threatened the president of France because they can’t sense humor in anything. “Did you see Trump? He threatened the little president! He told him better do a good job or Trump’s gonna look bad!” Trump was just using standard, ordinary, everyday guy humor. That escapes people on the left.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Here’s Larry in San Antonio. I’m glad you waited, sir. Great to have you.
CALLER: Hello, Rush. (chuckles) Great show.
RUSH: Thank you, sir.
CALLER: I just wanted to tell you how fantastic, in my opinion, your discourse on the left and Western civilization was from last week. It was the best summation of our culture and our history, and the pernicious growth of Marxism, socialism, misinformation from its advent up to where you share with us daily that I’ve ever heard. So thank you.
RUSH: Well, I appreciate that. I mean, really, more than you know. I really do.
CALLER: Well, you’re truly one of God’s gifts to 75% of the country.
RUSH: Well, as I say, “talent on loan from God.”
CALLER: Oh, yes. You are.
RUSH: That’s why I say that.
CALLER: It’s definitely on loan. (chuckles)
RUSH: Well, you know, I actually… It’s like I said last week, this was all bouncing off of Trump’s speech in Poland about Western civilization, Western culture. Folks, in my mind there is nothing superior. That’s the whole point! There’s never been a greater place for human beings to be on earth than the United States of America, in the history of the planet. Never, ever. That’s why everybody has always wanted to come here since our country was founded. I don’t think it’s arguable, and that sets up the exact challenge that we face.

We have more and more Americans after decades of education who believe the United States is the worst place on the planet; that it is the focus of evil, that it’s the home of racism and bigotry and homophobia and anti-LGBT[Q] and all this. And it’s despicable! And this stuff is being promulgated by people who for some perverted reason fear the greatness of this country and fear what created it: Liberty and freedom and the acknowledgment that we’re all created equal by God, and that one of our purposes as human beings is the pursuit of life and happiness.

The idea that this is somehow “controversial” has always offended me. I understand that not everybody’s gonna be uniform on everything. But it’s just offended my sensibilities that there are people born and raised in this country who somehow are able to intellectually believe a bunch of invective against this country, that somehow it’s a hellhole, that it’s a prison, that it’s — as I say — the focus of evil in the world. Trump was talking about in a very triumphant way about the beauties of Western civilization, and I thought it was a great speech.

And it was not long after that that another hit piece on Trump came down the pike. I’ve found that every time Trump has a good moment — be it advancing his agenda or a great speech — it isn’t long before in the media something pops up that is of a controversial nature that is designed to cover and overwhelm the good story that is, in this case, the Trump speech on Western civilization. And it’s under assault constantly, and I really think the culture… You know, we all have these things that are our pet peeves. We have politics. We have like sports. It’s like any number of other things.

I think the bedrock culture — not just political, but the overall bedrock culture, the collective mentality on morality, decency, manners, right and wrong — that’s what’s been under assault. And I believe like so many others who have written that it is actually an assault by people who don’t consider themselves “normal” against what is considered normal because they feel discriminated against by it. And it’s been an ongoing effort to redefine normalcy to include all kinds of things that for the longest time were considered bad, ill-mannered, immoral, what have you.

It’s a quest to water down and essentially erase some of the fundamental foundations of those values that created the greatest country and the greatest place for human beings to live ever in the history of Planet Earth. And it just offends me. And I’ve long believed that the cultural… You call it multiculturalism. You can call it where it happens in school where the multiculturalists attempt to inculcate young minds with the evils of America. But I don’t think it’s just simple enough to say that “politics” is our problem. I think the corruption of the pop culture…

I understand younger generations are always gonna be outside the bounds and exploring things, doing things. I’m not talking about that. I’m not talking about The Beatles with their long hair and those kinds of cultural changes. I’m talking about assaults on common definitions… Like, I think the redefinition of “marriage” is an absolute assault on the culture. It’s not a gay right, and there’s nothing discriminatory in marriage. Marriage has a specific definition. Marriage is the result of thousands of years of human beings living and discovering the best ways to accomplish things. Such as raising children, such as perpetuating a society, such as maintaining the primacy of a country and a society.

And it’s those things that are under assault. To say that marriage… To come along and say marriage is an ultimate act of discrimination is absurd! It was never intended as an act of discrimination. Nobody is required to get married! But once socialism came along and there became benefits attached to it? Well, then we have some people discriminated against! If you can only get certain financial benefits or other things like hospital visitation rights if you’re family — and if certain people cannot be qualified family ’cause they can’t get married — then they start screaming discrimination.

So the mixture of socialism, socialism-communist values into a society is gonna ultimately rip it to shreds and tear it apart. Saying that marriage is a discriminatory act or way of life? Come on. That’s just absurd, and it ultimately leads to the attempt to persuade people that Christianity itself is discriminatory. The Catholic Church is discriminatory. And it creates victim after victim after victim. Once there are victims, their grievances have to be addressed because they just do. It’s not fair. It’s not right. And the assault continues. And it’s just always offended my sensibilities. Any time somebody stands up for Western civilization, I’m gonna remark on it and champion it.

BLOG explanation (now expanded to include politics)

BLOG explanation (now expanded)
BOTTOM LINE:  Send COMMENTS to me

Originally, I had 20 blogspots, covering  1. Politics; 2. Religion; 3. Family; 4. Genealogy; 5. Statistical Visualization; 6. User Group activity; 7-20 Other important aspects of work, fun, and life.

A year ago, I noticed that when I tried to modify or add to one of these excellent blogspots, I would end up editing into “WardMissionLeader” and nothing I could do would change this.  I decided it was a good thing, in some ways, to convert the world and give religious people some political understandings.

It is a feature, not a bug.

Google Inc changed Google’s Blogger software.  I decided I didn’t want to go through their steps to conform because they were long, could go wrong, and I did not like giving up my WIN ‘extensions’.

So here is what I’ve decided to do.  If you want to add a POST or add a COMMENT under a post, send the text to me and I’ll put it in with full credit to you.  This has several advantages:  filtering scammers, making it easy for you, and keeping the system ‘simple’.

Anyway, the only person currently posting and making comments besides myself is Dr. Robert B. Sklaroff.  I expect very few other comments, but they are encouraged and appreciated.  This is an important blogspot and is connected to our eList of a thousand news-breakers across America.

We send a daily NOTE to good Conservative people (no Liberals allowed) and if you ever watch FoxNews cable TV, almost everyone you see is included in our eList.  We also have separate lists for once a month, and last-Friday only.  Tell us if you want to be on one of our three lists.

From time to time, we put a note at the bottom of the NOTE, especially on Friday, that we have additions to the BLOG.  I have an LDS persuasion and Sir Robert, Dr Sklaroff, (my golden contact) has Jewish tendency: he explained it to me once and it was ‘over my head’.  Perhaps a COMMENT could be added under this POST.  Of the 1,200 news-breakers, only 100 read the BLOGspot posts. But we hope the most important read there/here.  A few legislators, FoxNews stars, stake presidents, Trump Adm, Conservative voices, are on the list. Even if they don't go here to the BLOG, they see the subjects we cover when we list the topics at the bottom of a Friday NOTE.

Currently, there are four areas of high concern to us:
            à The politics of saving America as we know and love it;
          à Regaining the family/cultural values of Founding Fathers;
            à Current Politics to do with USA/Israel/Gospel;
        à Abbreviated/highlighted major Trump addresses.

If you have any questions about this, send a question/answer/discussion and I’ll add your text as a COMMENT under this post.  Dr. Sklaroff and I will add some commentary also.   Stay tuned.

President Trump to the People of Poland {condensed/annotated}

Remarks by President Trump to the People of Poland | July 6, 2017
Krasiński Square, Warsaw, Poland   1:16 P.M. CEST
MRS. TRUMP:  Hello, Poland!  Thank you very much.  My husband and I have enjoyed visiting your beautiful country….  [She has good words for Poland’s President and First Lady.]
PRESIDENT TRUMP:  Thank you very much.  That's so nice.  The United States has many great diplomats, but there is truly no better ambassador for our country than our beautiful First Lady, Melania.  Thank you, Melania.  That was very nice.  (Applause.)
We've come to your nation to deliver a very important message:  America loves Poland, and America loves the Polish people.  (Applause.)  Thank you.
The Poles have not only greatly enriched this region, but Polish-Americans have also greatly enriched the United States, and I was truly proud to have their support in the 2016 election.  (Applause.)  [[ED:  So he credits Poland, not Russia, for helping win.]]
It is a profound honor to stand in this city, by this monument to the Warsaw Uprising, and to address the Polish nation that so many generations have dreamed of:  a Poland that is safe, strong, and free.   [Much of his talk recounts the amazing history of the RESISTANCE.]
…  We are also pleased that former President Leck Walesa, so famous for leading the Solidarity Movement, has joined us today, also.  … Mr. President, I congratulate you, along with the President of Croatia, on your leadership of this historic Three Seas Initiative.  Thank you.  (Applause.) Your nation is great because your spirit is great and your spirit is strong.  (Applause.) For two centuries, Poland suffered constant and brutal attacks.  But while Poland could be invaded and occupied, and its borders even erased from the map, it could never be erased from history or from your hearts.  In those dark days, you have lost your land but you never lost your pride.  (Applause.)
… The triumph of the Polish spirit over centuries of hardship gives us all hope for a future in which good conquers evil, and peace achieves victory over war.
For Americans, Poland has been a symbol of hope since the beginning of our nation.  Polish heroes and American patriots fought side by side in our War of Independence and in many wars that followed.  Our soldiers still serve together today in Afghanistan and Iraq, combatting the enemies of all civilization.
For America’s part, we have never given up on freedom and independence as the right and destiny of the Polish people, and we never, ever will.  (Applause.)
…    [ED:  He recounts the amazing history of RESISTANCE. Watch the YouTube.]
Together, with Pope John Paul II, the Poles reasserted their identity as a nation devoted to God.  [“We Want GOD!” was the prayer/cry of a million.]
This continent no longer confronts the specter of communism.  But today we’re in the West, and we have to say there are dire threats to our security and to our way of life.  You see what’s happening out there.  They are threats.  We will confront them.  We will win.  But they are threats.  (Applause.)   We are confronted by another oppressive ideology -- one that seeks to export terrorism and extremism all around the globe.  America and Europe have suffered one terror attack after another.  We’re going to get it to stop.  (Applause.)
During a historic gathering in Saudi Arabia, I called on the leaders of more than 50 Muslim nations to join together to drive out this menace which threatens all of humanity.  We must stand united against these shared enemies to strip them of their territory and their funding, and their networks, and any form of ideological support that they may have.  While we will always welcome new citizens who share our values and love our people, our borders will always be closed to terrorism and extremism of any kind.  (Applause.) We are fighting hard against radical Islamic terrorism, and we will prevail.  We cannot accept those who reject our values and who use hatred to justify violence against the innocent.
Today, the West is also confronted by the powers that seek to test our will, undermine our confidence, and challenge our interests.  To meet new forms of aggression, including propaganda, financial crimes, and cyberwarfare, we must adapt our alliance to compete effectively in new ways and on all new battlefields.
We urge Russia to cease its destabilizing activities in Ukraine and elsewhere, and its support for hostile regimes -- including Syria and Iran -- and to instead join the community of responsible nations in our fight against common enemies and in defense of civilization itself.  (Applause.)
Finally, on both sides of the Atlantic, our citizens are confronted by yet another danger -- one firmly within our control.  This danger is invisible to some but familiar to the Poles:  the steady creep of government bureaucracy that drains the vitality and wealth of the people.  The West became great not because of paperwork and regulations but because people were allowed to chase their dreams and pursue their destinies.
Americans, Poles, and the nations of Europe value individual freedom and sovereignty.  We must work together to confront forces, whether they come from inside or out, from the South or the East, that threaten over time to undermine these values and to erase the bonds of culture, faith and tradition that make us who we are.  (Applause.)  If left unchecked, these forces will undermine our courage, sap our spirit, and weaken our will to defend ourselves and our societies.
…  We reward brilliance.  We strive for excellence, and cherish inspiring works of art that honor God.  We treasure the rule of law and protect the right to free speech and free expression.  (Applause.)
We empower women as pillars of our society and of our success.  We put faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, at the center of our lives.  And we debate everything.  We challenge everything.  We seek to know everything so that we can better know ourselves.  (Applause.)
And above all, we value the dignity of every human life, protect the rights of every person, and share the hope of every soul to live in freedom.  That is who we are.  Those are the priceless ties that bind us together as nations, as allies, and as a civilization.
…   PRESIDENT TRUMP:  As long as we know our history, we will know how to build our future.  Americans know that a strong alliance of free, sovereign and independent nations is the best defense for our freedoms and for our interests.  That is why my administration has demanded that all members of NATO finally meet their full and fair financial obligation.
As a result of this insistence, billions of dollars more have begun to pour into NATO.  In fact, people are shocked.  But billions and billions of dollars more are coming in from countries that, in my opinion, would not have been paying so quickly.
To those who would criticize our tough stance, I would point out that the United States has demonstrated not merely with words but with its actions that we stand firmly behind Article 5, the mutual defense commitment.  (Applause.)
…  We can have the largest economies and the most lethal weapons anywhere on Earth, but if we do not have strong families and strong values, then we will be weak and we will not survive.  (Applause.)  If anyone forgets the critical importance of these things, let them come to one country that never has.  Let them come to Poland.  (Applause.)  And let them come here, to Warsaw, and learn the story of the Warsaw Uprising.
The Jerusalem Avenue passage required constant protection, repair, and reinforcement, but the will of its defenders did not waver, even in the face of death.  …
Our own fight for the West does not begin on the battlefield -- it begins with our minds, our wills, and our souls.  Today, the ties that unite our civilization are no less vital, and demand no less defense, than that bare shred of land on which the hope of Poland once totally rested.  Our freedom, our civilization, and our survival depend on these bonds of history, culture, and memory.
And today as ever, Poland is in our heart, and its people are in that fight.  (Applause.)  Just as Poland could not be broken, I declare today for the world to hear that the West will never, ever be broken.  Our values will prevail.  Our people will thrive.  And our civilization will triumph.  (Applause.)
AUDIENCE:  Donald Trump!  Donald Trump!  Donald Trump!
PRESIDENT TRUMP:  Thank you.  So, together, let us all fight like the Poles -- for family, for freedom, for country, and for God.    [This harkens back to “We Want GOD!”]
Thank you.  God Bless You.  God bless the Polish people.  God bless our allies.  And God bless the United States of America.

Thank you.  God bless you.  Thank you very much.  (Applause.)  END   1:55 P.M. CEST

THEOLOGY STUDY
A thorough handout allows you to not take extensive notes. Ask for the 40-day notes.  Between resurrection and ascension, Jesus Christ established all of the rites and ordinances.  He restored the Church of Jesus Christ, [then and now] and not one thing is new today.

So many churches on the Earth hold eternal truths, as President Hinckley noted.  Our distinction is that Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, took Joseph Smith, groomed him, and restored the FULLNESS of the Church of Jesus Christ, not just part.

Jesus Christ brought healing to mankind:  Light, Resurrection, and mainly Spiritual Healing.

Physically and spiritually, man can be healed. The message in Christ’s ministry is that he made us whole again. To repeat, if you want to know what was practiced then, just look today.  The women organization didn’t start with Emma Smith.  They knew about three degrees of glory, the Plan of Salvation, redemption of the dead, sacrament, receiving all that He has, home/visiting teaching, missionary work.  They had it all back then.

After the Twelve were martyred, other religions splintered off.   Dr. David Wiley has written 115 pages on this:  Christ spent 40 days speaking of things about the Kingdom of God.  Gnosis means ‘secret knowledge’ which the Lord imparted during the 40 days.  [There is a lot.]

In addition to the Roman Church, others started splintering and they would take an element of truth and build a new church around it.

We know Christ went back to the room of the Passover and taught the prayer circle.  The prayer circles are performed in holy places.  The purpose was to enter into the presence of God. It is to benefit the Saints in need.  It wouldn’t happen in the temple of the time, Herod’s temple.

[Handout review begins in the last 40 minutes]  The prayer circle symbolizes the entire universe, in motion, with our own galaxy circling around in Light.  The Father of Light is in the center, with man in orbit.  Remember the fine-art pictures; also Father Lehi and light.  It is called the cosmic rings and music of the angels. It is ancient and sacred.

The sun trajectory is to the bright center of the Milky Way galaxy.  What’s the symbolism?
The Son of God moves us towards the Father [and exultation/Light.]

[Reviewing the summations of noted authors, noting eight aspects of the temple prayer circle.]  At the time of Christ, men and women were not allowed to be together to pray, but with the 120 in Christ’s prayer circle, women were included. Jesus brought the Higher Law.  See Acts 1:9-14.  They went into the upper-room and continued in prayer with the women. Etc.

Jesus gave endowed saints a final ordinance of the Prayer Circle. They had to be endowed to be present in the circle conducted by Peter the head Apostle, leading the Church after Christ left.   It was the ‘forgiveness of sin’ at the veil.  It is by the power of the Son of Light.  It is the mystery of the inner Holy of Hollies.  — Dr Hugh Nibley.  See also D&C 132:19-20.

This whole study is to strengthen your knowledge and testimony.  Study the handouts.
Can people of the world comprehend The Forty Day Teachings, or just stop with resurrection?  After going through The Veil, the receiver is allowed to approach the innermost area of the Treasury of Light, where he/she will be given further light and knowledge. — Dr. Nibley.

Be a Defender of the Faith as religious liberties are threatened as before.  Prayer.

Simply REPEAL Obamacare .!.

How to Repeal Obamacare Using the Scientific Method

To avoid imminent collapse of the health care delivery infrastructure, employ the medical model and strategize accordingly:
History: The GOP wants to remove the individual/employer mandate, to ensure equal tax treatment of premiums, to invoke federalism when determining state-level Medicaid and benefit packages, and to cap federal medicaid expenditures.  The GOP cannot compromise with Democrats, as advised by those who wish to preserve Obamacare's core principles, for such "fixes" would entail  appropriation of more federal monies and establishment of a single-payer system.
Examination: Due to interim damage to free markets experiencing an insurer death spiral as private insurers withdraw from the exchanges, it is impossible merely to "repeal" Obamacare.  Regardless of whether President Trump does or doesn't cut off supplemental funding, it is vital to "replace" it with a system that will allow sufficient time for the private sector to become reactivated.
Assessment: If Republicans cannot salvage this gigantic economic sector, they could lose control of the House in 2018. If they can, the rest of theTrumpian legislative agenda will flow far more easily and The Donald will be better able to focus upon foreign affairs. Fortunately, the House emerged from having faced the morbidity/mortality of potential failure in the wake of withdrawal of the AHCA from the House floor.
Plan: To win support from the four conservative senators (Cruz, Johnson, Lee, Paul) who are reticent to endorse Trumpcare, it is necessary to ensure that the cost curve of health insurance will bend downward.  Restoring competition to the max is mandatory.
Diagnostically, a false dilemma has been fanned by the media – to wit, that it is impossible for the delicately balanced American Health Care Act to extricate America from the Affordable Care Act.  Although the focus has been trained upon the need for recipients of Medicaid expansion to switch to private plans by invoking tax credits, the necessity for the middle class to find a program that meets fundamental needs affects the bulk of the population.
Therapeutically, all that needs to be done is for the Senate to join the House in repealing the limited McCarran-Ferguson antitrust exemption for health insurers.  They can co-adopt H.R. 372, the "Competitive Health Insurance Reform Act of 2017," which was passed by by a bipartisan vote of 416-7.
* * *
To appreciate how this one intervention will help holdouts "get there," appreciate the academic approach that will dictate a positive outcome.
Materials: Republicans heeded Walt Kelly's warning – enunciated in the comic strip Pogo during the Vietnam War era – that "we have met the enemy, and he is us" by recognizing that they cannot re-pass the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015 (H.R. 3762), despite its being a scaled down version of any repeal bill.  This was a dry run that contained language that could trigger a precedent-setting adverse ruling by the Senate parliamentarian that would impede subsequent passage via reconciliation.
Methods: After these core operational questions entered mainstream debateand key players revealed their priorities, disinterested, evidence-based analysis prompted enactment of an amended bill that can transition a decimated marketplace – arguably Obama's goal – into a rejuvenated competitive environment.  Republicans have acted in good faith while bridging the gap between its poles (Freedom Caucus and Tuesday Group) – for example, while compiling what constitutes "essential" insurance benefits.
Interim Analysis: After the initial draft was withdrawn, Trump played the whirling dervish, being taken "seriously, but not literally."  He acted out his "Art of the Deal" capacity to (a) walk away and (b) direct bombastagainst the obstructionists of the moment.
Research Subjects: Trump launched a renewed negotiation initiative while golfing with Senator Paul on a Sunday and meeting with moderates on aMonday.  Meanwhile, Vice President Pence was meeting with the Freedom Caucus that Monday night, listening to the rationale for eliminating all three Obamacare mandates – benefits, insurability, community rating – as reiterated by Rep. Jim Jordan (listen at 8:45 a.m. EDT) – so that free-markets would be restored expeditiously and responsibly.
Side Effects: The Freedom Caucus wanted to avoid a premium hike that would adversely impact a large number of their contituents, despite reassurances that this would be only temporary as the energized economy grows (diminishing the number of Medicaid recipients) and the health insurance industry recovers (increasing the number of competing insurers).
Final Analysis: The contretemps over "Obamacare Lite" could be obviated by invoking Maine's successful experience when covering pre-existing conditions by creating risk pools.  Throughout, recognized was the lack of any need to hold extensive multi-committee hearings and/or to abide by updated CBO projections.
Results: These concerns prompted passage of the Upton Amendment, which accommmodated "centrist" legislators, most of whom are not vulnerable during the 2018 election cycle, who want to ensure thatpremiums don't skyrocket.  The key innovation was to empower states to issue opt-out waivers, particularly regarding Medicaid expansion, without engaging in a blame game.

To place this experience into historical context, the outcome of this process merits discussion.
Background: Two prior essays detailed a pivotal method to achieve passage (overturn the Byrd Rule to overcome the Senate filibuster) and the need to collaborate ASAP (honor the essence of the Freedom Caucus message even if some ACA taxes must be retained and rehab for drug abusers must be underwritten).  Someone must have noted the first essay, for, following confirmation of Justice Neil Gorsuch, prophylactic opposition abruptly emerged against overcoming the Byrd Rule by invoking a second nuclear option, this to promote the fanciful goal ofbipartisanship.
Literature Review: During the spring recess, Freedom Caucus members projected burgeoning openness, while Tuesday Group members exuded shared moderation with Speaker Ryan.  Republicans overcame the cacophony emanating from liberal media echo chambers, countering unrelenting attacks targeting Trump's "mental status" (c/o MSNBC's Joe Scarborough) and "troubled" administration (c/o CNN's Chris Cuomo) by Democrats who invoke intersectionality to demonize Republicans, regardless of their vote on the AHCA.
Future Studies: An overlooked example of secondary gain emanating from AHCA passage would be cutting D.C. paternalism, manifest, for example, by eliminating the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which, inter alia, undermines use of vaping as a tobacco risk reduction tool.  And a professional reminder of the dangers of a single-payer system emerged when it was discovered that the technical component of out-of-hospital testing of a Medicare patient cannot be billed by the hospital if he is an in-patient or less than 14 days post-discharge, thereby arbitrarily delayingacquisition of lung cancer tumor markers.
Optional Pursuit: Finally, an overlooked intervention would be to reprivatize the federal student loan program, which the ACA centralized.  This is an albatross for which Demcrats are responsible, yet they have consistently, subsequently decried it, even as they have plotted to expand it.
Conclusion: Permeating this recap is recognition that the GOP will be able to "sell" the AHCA if it demonstrably lowers premiums, and concomitant repeal of the health insurers' antitrust protection will immediately achieve this goal by maximizing insurer competition.  This is how lemonade will be squeezed out from the lemony portions of the AHCA.
